Over time parts inside pianos wear down and need adjusting. The pedals are a good example of this. We believe that recalibrating and regulating your pedals during the tuning appointment is a critical step in properly tuning your piano. This simple adjustment will give you better control and overall use of the pedals.

Sticking keys, squeaky pedals, and buzzing strings are just a few normal issues that are common to pianos. Luckily, most of these repairs are easy to fix, and often can be done at no additional cost during your tuning appointment. Be sure to let us know of any of issues with your piano ahead of time so we can come prepared.

Over time your piano hammers become harder from constantly hitting the strings.  This can create a very harsh and abrasive sound.  Our technicians have the tools and skills necessary to soften your pianos hammers, which will give you a more soft and sweet tone.  Be sure to talk to your technician if this is something you would like done at the time of service.

Action adjustment is resetting key action parts back to factory specifications.  This allows the parts to reset and work properly which in turn helps the piano play smoother, more consistently, and easier.

Action calibration is resetting key action parts back to factory specifications.  This allows the parts to reset and work properly which in turn helps the piano play smoother, more consistently, and easier.

Why do I need "Action Calibration"? Over time, the wooden and felt parts in the action mechanism naturally drift out of alignment from the original factory specifications. This extra space in the action mechanism makes the piano more difficult to play. Calibrating your action at every service maintains factory specifications and makes it more enjoyable to play.

Did you know that a piano has five times more moving parts than a car engine? Our technicians will lubricate these essential moving parts to ensure smooth, enjoyable play and key travel.
