Piano Cleaning 101!

Dust regularly: Use a soft, clean microfiber cloth or a feather duster to remove dust from the piano's surfaces. Be gentle to avoid scratching the finish.

Clean keys: For plastic or ivory keys, use a damp cloth with a mild solution of water and a small amount of mild dish soap. Use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid excess moisture to prevent damage.

Avoid chemical cleaners: Avoid using harsh chemicals, furniture polish, or abrasive cleaners on the piano, as they can damage the finish.

Clean between keys: Use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to clean the areas between the keys.

Polish the cabinet: If your piano has a wooden cabinet, you can use a piano polish or a specialized wood cleaner to maintain its shine. Apply the polish to a soft cloth and gently buff the wood.

Humidity control: Maintain a stable humidity level in the room where the piano is located to prevent damage to the soundboard and other wooden components.

Tune the piano: Regular tuning by a professional is also a form of maintenance that contributes to the overall well-being of the piano.
